Garden Design
At Briar & Bramble Landscaping, we understand the significance of a well-thought-out garden design. It serves as the blueprint that brings harmony, balance, and functionality to outdoor spaces. A thoughtfully designed garden considers not only the aesthetics but also the practicality and sustainability. By carefully selecting the right plants, hardscape elements, and placement, a professionally designed garden can enhance the overall appeal of a property, create a peaceful and inviting atmosphere, and increase its value. We ensure that every nook and cranny of the garden is utilised purposefully, creating the perfect space for relaxation, entertaining, and outdoor activities. Moreover, a well designed garden takes into account the long-term maintenance requirements, allowing homeowners to enjoy their outdoor sanctuary with ease. Whether it's a small urban oasis or a sprawling estate, a well-designed garden is a testament to our clients' individuality and their desire to create an outdoor space that brings beauty, functionality, and joy for years to come.
Our process begins with a meeting in your space to discuss how you use, or would like to use, your space. This first meeting is a great opportunity to talk through your vision for the space, along with the specific plants and structures you may like. If you’re unsure about specific plants just let us know the colours, textures and scale of the planting and we can provide a list of available plants to suit your space.
Our pricing for garden design is reasonable and transparent, with as many tweeks to the design as you like until we get it exactly how you would like it. The design evolves in a relaxed and natural way. Once we have settled on a final design you will receive finished plans that you can refer to as we start the physical side of the job.
We use a mixture of hand drawn and CAD design. If you already have a good idea about how your garden will look, we can provide a hand drawn sketch to visualise the initial working layout. If we are designing for you, or it is a more complex project we can produce more detailed drawing and CAD models to bring the idea to life.
Once the project has started we are happy to change the design while the work progresses, and new ideas arise as the space takes shape.
Just a few examples
-
Small Spaces
Small gardens offer a lot in terms of potential. Turn a drab courtyard into a lush Japanese inspired jungle with a hot tub!
-
Social Spaces
When the weather is good, there is nothing better than socialising outdoors in a beautiful space. Let us know your ideal habitat. Firepit? BBQ surrounded by a herb garden?
-
Whole garden
If your garden isn’t a space that you are passionate about, maybe it’s time for a complete redesign. Talk to us about it. Tell us where you have seen examples that inspire you, and we can work it into our custom design to make your outdoor space the place you want to spend most of your time.

Visualisations
We use a mixture of artistic to-scale hand drawings and CAD modeling to help plan what your garden will look like, before we put spade to soil. Together we will create the space you are dreaming of.
